Cherry Street + Unwin Avenue | Port of Toronto, ON
Cherry Beach is located at the foot of Cherry Street just south of Unwin Avenue. Cherry Beach is easily one of the best dog parks in Toronto. That’s because Cherry Beach has one of the largest areas of lakefront and beach of any off-leash dog park in the city.
Almost the entire West side of Cherry Beach is designated for dogs. It has beautiful views of the Toronto skyline and of Lake Ontario, which makes it a scenic experience for everyone. It is a large park so dogs can really tire themselves out. It is always busy so dogs have a constant flow of dogs to meet and greet. The beach area is extensive so if your dog loves the water, this is the park for you.
Parking is available right in the park. It is worth the drive to Cherry Beach!
What to Expect
This is a popular dog park all year long. In the summer months, this beach is very busy with beach goers as well as dog owners so be respectful of families with young children and keep your dog in the dog designated area. This is a dog walker hot spot, so this is not the place for you if you aren’t interested in being around a lot of other dogs.
What’s Not To Like
- If your dog is a runner and does not have reasonable off leash recall, the fence around this park is not really going to keep him in.
- The entrance is not double gated so your dog could run in or out if someone else opens the gate to let their dog in.
