Withrow Park

place-2 725 Logan Avenue – Logan Ave +  Bain Ave | Riverdale, Toronto

If you haven’t been to the Withrow Park off leash dog park in a while, you should give it another try.

Withrow Park dog park is now a fully fenced dog park and the dogs actually have more space to call their own than they did before the fence went up. Don’t let the large posts of the fence throw you off. There is smaller meshed chicken wire between the posts. Nestled in between the softball diamond and the hockey rink, this dog park has hills, lots of foliage to sniff around in and a generous flat open area for ball chasing. It also has a good helping of wood chips which is my personal terrain of choice.

What’s not to like:

1. The don’t have the “holding area” entrance and exit that many other dog parks have. This means that an eager dog could potentially escape the park when other visitors are entering or leaving.

2. There is no fresh water available at this park. There is, however, a public water fountain just outside of the dog run by the soccer field which often has a communal stainless steel bowl chained to it for dogs.
